Special Notice on Model Manager

Special Notice on Model Manager

First Release Date: June 23, 2026

Last Updated Date: June 23, 2026

This Notice applies to UGREEN NAS's Model Manager feature. Please read and fully understand this Notice before prior to use. Your use of this feature shall be deemed acceptance of the terms herein.

1. Feature Description

The Model Manager feature is a tool in UGREEN NAS for orchestrating and managing AI models and capabilities, and consists of the following modules.

1.1 Explore. This module presents introductions to AI capabilities deployed on UGREEN NAS, and provides download access for AI resource packages (including model files and runtime dependencies).

1.2 Intelligent Learning. This module automatically analyzes the content of documents stored on UGREEN NAS, generates semantic indexes and document summaries for use by features such as Universal Search, Files, and Uliya Knowledge Base. Users can select either Quick Mode (semantic search only) or Deep Mode (with text summarization), and configure the running schedule for learning tasks. Directories of applications with built-in AI capabilities such as Photos  and Voice Memos are automatically excluded.

1.3 Model Management (Subpage).
This subpage enables users to view and manage AI models deployed on UGREEN NAS, including Large Language Models, Speech Recognition, Semantic Search, Person Recognition, Optical Character Recognition, Similarity and Duplicate Detection, Pet Recognition, and Sensitive Content Detection. Users can individually enable or disable each model function and manage the authorization for applications to call these models.

1.4 Intelligent Commands. This module manages the authorization for Uliya to access and operate various app tools on UGREEN NAS, including Control Panel, Media Center, Photos , Music, Docker, and Sync & Backup.

1.5 AI Capability Authorization Management. This module manages AI capacity authorization for all apps on UGREEN NAS. It controls whether apps can call AI models, and whether Uliya can operate relevant apps via Intelligent Commands.

2. Collection and Use of Personal Information

Personal information processing activities related to this feature are described below by usage scenario:

Scenario

Personal Information Processed

Purpose

2.1 Using this feature

Records of first-time use, feature configuration preferences (enable/disable status of each model and authorization switch status of each tool), and logs recording program running status and execution results

Used for determining feature operation and access control

2.2 Downloading AI resource packages

Local storage path preferences specified by users during the first download

Used to configure the default storage path for subsequent downloads. We will not access your personal files.

2.3 Enabling Intelligent Learning

Eligible document content (including images content and document summaries when Deep Mode is enabled)

Used to pre-analyze the documents on UGREEN NAS, generate semantic indexes and document summaries for Universal Search, Files, Uliya Knowledge Base and other features, and prevent redundant data processing.

2.4 Configuring models

User settings for enabling or disabling each model (including Large Language Models, Speech Recognition, Person Recognition, Optical Character Recognition, Similarity and Duplicate Detection, Pet Recognition, and Sensitive Content Detection)

Used to control the enable/disable status of each model

2.5 Integrating with third-party cloud-based large language models

API credentials actively configured by users

Used to call third-party services.  UGREEN servers will not store these credentials. All request content is sent directly to third-party service providers and is subject to their privacy policies.

2.6 Using Intelligent Commands

Switch status of Uliya’s access permissions for various UGREEN NAS app tools

Used to control Uliya's access to tools. Please refer to the Uliya Privacy Policy for details on runtime data processing.

2.7 Managing vector data

Semantic index vector data generated by Universal Search

Used to power AI semantic matching capabilities for Universal Search

3. Data Storage

All data generated during your use of this feature (including analysis results and summaries from Intelligent Learning, app authorization configurations, and Universal Search vector data) is stored directly on your local UGREEN NAS device and under your exclusive control. This feature will not upload any of your personal information to UGREEN servers.

4. Third-Party Cloud-Based Models

Third-party cloud-based AI large language models can be integrated into this feature. If third-party models are integrated into this feature by you:

4.1 Your input content will be transmitted directly to the servers of third-party service providers for processing, which may involve cross-border data transfers.

4.2 Third-party services are independently provided by the respective service providers. Their data processing activities are governed by their respective end user agreements and privacy policies. We strongly recommend that you carefully review third-party agreements before using third-party services.

4.3 You shall provide your own API credentials which are stored locally on your UGREEN NAS device. Your UGREEN NAS device will send the credentials directly to third-party service providers during calls, and UGREEN servers will not retain them.

4.4 Any and all disputes, damages, or losses arising from or incurred in connection with your use of third-party services shall be resolved by you and the relevant third party, and UGREEN shall not assume any joint and several liability.

5. Your Rights and Control

5.1 AI feature control

(1) Intelligent Learning: You may enable or disable the AI-powered intelligent learning feature at any time. You can select Quick Mode or Deep Mode, and configure the running schedule for learning tasks.

(2) Model  Management (Subpage): You may enable or disable each model (such as Person Recognition, Optical Character Recognition, Pet Recognition, and Sensitive Content Detection) and manage application-level authorization for invoking these models. You may disable all models with one click, and all ongoing tasks will be interrupted.

(3) Intelligent Commands: You may enable or disable Uliya's access to various tools on UGREEN NAS (such as Control Panel, Media Center, Photos , Docker, Sync & Backup).

(4) Universal Search: In the search settings of the Explore module, you can add "Exclusion Paths" (folders that will not be indexed) or control whether each application (such as Photos , Media Center) is included in the search results. You may enable or disable "Document Content Search" or "Document Semantic Search (AI)" separately. Please note that "File Name Search" is a base index and cannot be turned off separately. If search results are incomplete, you may use the Rebuild Index feature to restore them.

(5) Universal Search Vector Data Management: You may choose Settings > Vector Data Management to delete the corresponding data.

5.2 Data deletion. All data generated by this feature is stored locally on your UGREEN NAS. You may delete relevant AI data locally at any time, or uninstall this feature to fully erase all associated data.

6. Miscellaneous

Matters not covered herein (including account management, protection of minors, dispute resolution, governing law, and contact information) shall be subject to the UGREEN NAS User Agreement and the UGREEN NAS Privacy Policy. If there is any inconsistency between this Notice and the aforementioned documents, this Notice shall prevail.
